My Boys at 3 1/2

I was thinking today about how Owen is currently 3 1/2 years old and Luke is 3 1/2 months old. I thought that was kind of cool how their ages lined up and wanted to make a list of current things about them so I wouldn't forget as time went by. So, here's a quick snapshot of what my boys are like these days.

Luke at 3 1/2 months
--Eats about every 3 hours during the day
--Only naps about 30 minutes long about 4-5 times a day (this makes mommy nutty!)
--Is finally sleeping better at night!! The last few nights he went to bed around 8:00 and woke up to eat at midnight and 4 am and then was up for the day around 6 or 7 am. He sleeps really soundly for that first stretch till midnight and then is pretty restless after that, needing the paci put back in and patted back to sleep several times.
--Had his first cold this month and had thrush in his mouth. Is still on Prevacid for reflux and gets Karo syrup in his bottle twice a day to help with constipation
--Loves to watch his brother play, to be talked to, and will laugh out loud when tickled
--Has recently discovered his vocal cords. Loves to squeal and gets really chatty during Owen's nap time and after those nightime feedings
--Is wearing 3-6 month clothes and some are getting snug! Weighed just over 16 pounds when at the doctor 2 weeks ago
--Usually cries when in the car longer than 10 minutes or so. Getting some better at this though.

Owen at 3 1/2
--Weighs about 48 pounds and wears 4T and 5T clothes, 10 1/2 Extra Wide shoes
--Loves to sing the Hokey Pokey, Climb climb Sunshine Mountain, and Jesus Loves the Little Children
--Favorite book at the moment is his collection of Uncle Wiggly stories
--Loves to play with pretty much anybody--kids at church, at McDonalds, etc. Will walk up to a kid and say "Hey, do you want to play with me?"
--Has way, way too many toy cars. Loves to "play cars" on the quilt on our bed because it has "roads". However, never plays on the special rug I bought him with roads on it!
--Loves to visit new places, people's houses, etc. and constantly pretend plays at home that he is visiting someone
--Very bossy:) Wants to be in charge ALL THE TIME! When we are playing pretend, he will tell you verbatim what you should say and then get all huffy if you don't say it exactly right.
--Tells me this about 5-10 times a day...."Hey Mama, you know what? I love you." He might be bossy but he's a sweetie!

Luke's Favorite Noise

At 3 1/2 months, Luke is very "chatty." If he's awake, he's making some kind of noise. His latest is a sort of squeal that gets progressively louder and distressed-sounding if you don't acknowledge him in some way. Cute the first couple of times, but....anyway, you get the idea.

Halloween 2009

We've been doing lots of this around here....

No, not sleeping unfortunately. Lots of baby holding because Luke got his first cold and it's been a doozy. The worst part has been his cough. It's really deep and sounds terrible. Sometimes it chokes him and gags him. Super scary. We took him to the doctor Halloween morning and they said, yeah, it's viral, good luck and sent us home. So, we've been busy nose sucking and rocking. I'm hoping the worst part is over and he'll feel better soon. I had a really cute pirate costume for him to wear but that'll just have to wait till later.
Now, below is our resident doctor of the house this Halloween. Owen loved his costume and had a great time trick-or-treating. We took him to Gran & Pop's neighborhood, as is tradition, so he could trick or treat with cousin Garrett.

Is anybody in there? The boys were so cute. They had to argue over who gets to ring the bell at every door:)
