Party Details

I spent a lot of time planning and preparing for Owen's 5th birthday party. No, we will not be having huge parties every year. That's why I wanted to make this one extra special. I began to get ideas for the party at another child's party. The mom had decorated with printables she had purchased on Etsy. It was super cute and original, so I started searching on Etsy myself for a party theme that I thought Owen would like. When I saw the Star Wars package offered by Shindig Parties, I knew he would love it. I also got lots of other great ideas by simply searching on Google for "Star Wars Birthday". I'm so thankful for the Internet! I borrowed ideas here and there for games, food, etc., and I think it turned out to be a fantastic party. It was fun to plan and even more fun to see the kids so excited and happy.


We had it at the Ada Wright Center in Manchester. I'm so glad we didn't have it at our house! This place had plenty of room for the kids to run wild:)

I made these table decorations with some of the printable circles from my Star Wars package from Shindig.

Everyone loved the Star Wars themed food labels!



This was our Death Star pinata. I bought a soccer ball pinata at Hobby Lobby, spray painted it grey, and then had Buck draw some designs on it with a Sharpie.








I got the cake from the "Kake Lady" here in Manchester. It was so amazing!















The Yoda Soda was lime sherbert and 7-UP. It was really good! Owen has requested we make it again soon:)



Another great idea I stole from someone else was making the light sabers for the kids out of pool noodles. I bought several at the Dollar Store, cut them in half, and put duct tape on the end for the handle. These were a big hit with the kids! Buck put on a Darth Vader mask, and the kids chased him around and whacked him endlessly! It was so much fun for everyone, and then the kids got to take the sabers home with them.



Each kid also went home with a little goody bag with a tag saying "May the Force Be with You" from Jedi Owen.
