Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday!

March is always a special month in our house because we have so many birthdays to celebrate. It starts off with Buck's birthday on March 16. On the Saturday before his birthday, I took him to Cumberland Caverns for the Bluegrass Underground concert. Neither of us had been before, and we had a great time! Ralph Stanley was the main performer, and there was a large crowd there to see him. I didn't really know who he was beforehand, but once we heard his voice we recognized it. (He's on the "O Brother Where Art Thou" soundtrack.) On Buck's actual birthday, me and the boys got him an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. Owen picked it out, so Buck got a Cars cake:)

Then on the 22nd was my birthday! It was a very special day. My mom took me shopping and to lunch while the boys were at Mother's Day Out. Then, she picked them up from school and kept them for the night so Buck could take me out to dinner. What a luxury! Buck got me some beautiful flowers from Henry's florist in Murfreesboro, and we had dinner at Carabbas. A birthday can't get much better than that!

Then our final March birthday is Owen's! His 5th birthday is actually tomorrow, but we had his party on Friday night. (He still hasn't opened his presents from us yet. We're saving them for his actual birthday.)

Here he is with the cake. He had a Star Wars party!

We gave each child a "light saber" aka a pool noodle with duct tape:)

Luke had a great time just running around at the party.

We played several games with the kids. Darth, Darth Vader (Duck, Duck, Goose), Yoda Says (Simon Says), Musical chairs, and this Star Wars version of Pin the Tail on the Donkey. We learned that the girls loved the games and kept asking for more but the boys preferred just running crazy and hitting stuff with their light sabers!

We had a Death Star pinata. The kids took several tries at busting it, but Buck finally had to whack it before it finally would.

Singing Happy Birthday to my big 5 year old!
