Our February

It seems like our February went by so quickly and that we were always busy with something every day. This past week, however, everything came to a standstill when our little Luke got terribly sick.

It started Sunday night when he started running a high fever. We took him to the doctor late Monday afternoon, where they did a flu test (which was negative) and told us it was probably a virus and sent us home. Then, we went back to the doctor on Wednesday after he still had the fever and wasn't any better. This time they checked him for several things, and he tested positive for both RSV and Strep. You could tell he was feeling so, so bad. Plus he hadn't slept at all day or night for about 3-4 days. We were all exhausted! It's so hard when your child is so sick and you feel so helpless. Today he is doing much, much better. Praise the Lord! He's playing again and acting much more like himself. The doctor said his cough and runny nose could last for weeks though.

So, here's a little recap of what all we did in February.

We attended my niece Kaeley's 8th birthday party in Knoxville. Below is a picture of her awesome Rapunzel cake. My sister-in-law Jennifer always does amazing cakes!





After the party, we stayed overnight in a hotel in Knoxville. This was the first time we had attempted such a feat with Luke. Owen was super excited to swim in the pool and that we got this cool luggage cart to tote our stuff to the room. Both boys loved playing on the cart.

Here are some pictures from Owen's Valentines party at preschool. This is the first time I've ever attended one of his school parties. In the past he'd always had such crying fits when I dropped him off that I didn't want to risk anything by attending any of the parties, but this year he's been much better.






Last weekend I gave a small baby shower for my friend Heather. She's due to have her 2nd baby boy here in a few weeks. We met for lunch at the Puffy Muffin in Brentwood and had a fun time. I ordered these personalized cookies to give out. I thought they turned out so cute. It was hard to get a good picture of them though because they were wrapped in the shiny cellophane bags. (Forgive my camera strap in the picture below!) I ordered them from this lady in Arkansas. You can check our her blog at All About the Cookies.

So, that was our February. Looking forward to what March will bring! Hopefully good health and warmer temperatures!
