Well, we're back home after spending 2 nights in Pigeon Forge, TN. We had a great, great time. One of our better trips in awhile. Owen was with my parents, so Buck and I were footloose and fancy-free:) The fall colors were beautiful. We spent some time on Monday driving around in the mountains and taking pictures. We also enjoyed eating out at various places. We had breakfast at Pancake Pantry on Monday morning. We'd been hearing others rave about it for years, so we finally tried it and loved it. I had the chocolate chip pancakes...mmmm, those are super yummy. Almost too rich for 7 am! We couldn't get over how long it took for the sun to come up there. It was still pitch black at 7:30 am when we came out of the restaurant. (And, yes, we wake up notoriously early even on vacation days...okay, more so me than Buck.)
We loved the place we stayed. It was a fabulous condo at RiverStone Resort & Spa. We will definitely go back there again. We've rented cabins in the past and never been really happy but this place was perfect.
We picked up Owen this afternoon, and I think it's going to take awhile for him to adjust to being home again. For one, he's exhausted. He didn't sleep well at preschool today (10 minute nap!). And two, he's had Grandma at his beck and call for 3 whole days and has to learn to hear the answer "no" again. Hopefully, a good night's sleep will do his attitude and mood a world of good.
Anyway, here's some pics from our trip.

Woo hoo -- getaways without kids are always good! Especially if you know the kids are having fun.
